Hey Axis! Just to give you guys some heads up, the Kallang Open Slow Pitch is in 3 days!
For those who could not make it for today's short briefing after training, here's some of the information we discussed i.e. some of the more important rules of the game.
-The batter always starts with ONE ball and ONE strike. After two strikes, he/she will be declared out on the next foul ball.
-No bunting, stealing or taking leads.
-No sliding or diving at first base and home.
-For players running home, you must step on the black mat behind the home plate
-Between home and 3rd base, about one-third of the distance (nearer to 3rd base), there will be a line of no return. Once crossed (any part of your body cross), you have to run home because it is forced run.
-When batting please take note that you must be within the batter's box
These are the more important rules of the games so you all need to take note. In addition, these are the updated timings for our games.

Reporting time for this upcoming Saturday, 17 March is 10am at Stadium MRT. Please, please, please do not be late.
Please remember bring your own water bottle to hydrate yourselves, umbrella in case of rainy weather and sun block if you do not want to have ugly tan lines or for whatever beauty reason.
Oh and remember to wear the grey axis jersey if you have it because it is compulsory that all players have numbers.
Lastly, have a good rest the night before the competition and take good care of yourselves okay :)
See you all on Saturday and let's make our games spectacular (in a good way, of course)... Jiayous~!
Cheers,
Jasmine
P.S. One other important thing that EVERYONE have to take note of is that if someone loses a softball, he/she will have to be responsible and compensate for it be it buying a brand new ball to replace or paying ball's cost to the club fund.
However, if a ball is lost by a group of people, those present will be pay for it among themselves. For example, after one training, we realised that a ball is missing and we can't find it. We don't know who lost it, so everyone attending that training will share the cost of the ball.
Therefore, to avoid unnecessary problems, let's all be responsible and take care of our equipment. Shall we? :)

Kallang Open (Fast Pitch)
On 3 March 2012 and 4 March 2012, 11 brave souls took part in the Kallang Open fast pitch. Although we got the 6th position out of the 6 competing teams, like Neo said, there are no losers since everyone learnt a lot from the games :)
Since the competition is over, we should pick up from where with left off. Train harder, learn from our mistakes and face many more future games.
Anyhoo, as a spectator and someone watching from the sidelines, here the Kallang Open Wall of Fame, based on what I observed and with help from Catherine, your Vice Captain :)
Wilson

Oh and congratulations to Brandon and Wilson for getting the Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player respectively :)
Most Improved Player!
Most Valuable Player :)
HOWEVER, dear all, please don't not be too relieved/happy because there are still many many things that can be improved and your captain and vice-captain will enlighten you guys during trainings. Please pay attention during trainings then. I'll find a way to upload the videos that I took and hopefully you guys can see how you played and improve on it.
In addition, I feel that when Catherine shout during the games, please do not like blame her or say she naggy/noisy because she really wants you guys to play better. I know I'm no position to judge since I'm not the one in the hot sun playing but I just feel that you guys should not like scold Catherine for nagging yea?
If no one points out our mistakes, then we can't improve. In future, we all should take into account what Catherine (or anyone) says with a pinch of salt and just try to improve ourselves. This is just my two cents worth. No hard feelings, k so don't throw softballs at me during trainings :/
Lastly, a reminder, Kallang slow pitch is in like 2 weeks time. Hope we will play a better game then. Fast pitch was okay but let's work harder for the next game. I'll work harder during trainings and everyone work hard together too! Softball is a team game and we can't do without anyone of you k! See you all tomorrow for the next training! Go Axis!!! \(^.^)/
Cheers,
Jasmine
P.S. Here's a bonus photo from the game :)

Training Camp!
Hey all! let me do a quick post on the softball training/bonding camp 2012. Okay, maybe not so 'quick', it was 3 days, 27th feb to 29th feb 2012.
DAY 1
We started off at 10am ( shiok right so late start), played Punching water. Water bombs were dropped from the second level of block 50 just above the store. Members stood below and hit as many water balloons within 30s. Just that my dear members caught the water and threw at my games masters hahaahha!
As we split into teams, Team 1: Hem, Xavier, Brandon & Shuya
Team 2: Adeline, Jasmine, Jeremy, Jesper & Leonard
For punching water, Team 1 won! clapclapclapclap*
Then we played Chicken Fight, members will have to hope around with one leg push the opponent down. The team with the most number of people surviving will win. We played around five rounds! Just standing there and watch, i couldn't help but burst into laughter. Its so hilarious! Video below!! hehe sorry for the shaky hands, i was giving games rules as i was video-ing :P
SORRY FOR THE POOR QUALITY! ALL ORIGINAL COPY WILL BE POSTED IN AXIS FACEBOOK PAGE!
Then we continued on with Wedding Photograph, members will have to jump within the frame and picture will be snapped. Most faces in the picture wins and we played i think around 5 rounds? its damn funny too! pictures snapped here!
VIDEO BELOW! ONCE AGAIN SORRY FOR POOR QUALITY! ORIGINAL AT AXIS FB!!
So we had lunch and we played running man around ngee ann, it was kind of failed cause i set the mission a little too difficult!>< plus it was damn hot and i had to make sure they were alive for training after that so i stopped the game half way! sorry people! so the winner for day 1 wa Team 1! The team with lesser people! Oh btw Jeremy(CAPTAIN) was the first to be out, and how? His group was buying food in CO-OP.... and so much for the hello panda huh jeremy! hahaha
DAY 2
Once again we reported at 10am!:) we played running man, this time round at block 50 only! hahaha! so we started off with couple hide and seek, members were linked up together with paper bracelets and there was a pair whom were the catcher. and wait, catchers were to wear bells on their shoe once again! Catcher were, Hem & Leslie! congrats! they did well! they tricked the last 2 couple into believing they arent the catcher. oh ya! the first couple to be out was JEREMY and Xavier! (Is adeline and sherye lah! Mrs Ng!!!) hahahaha!!! CAPTAIN! WALAU!!! i expected more running but half the time the members hid in the classrooms!
then we played individually the next round, where the catcher was, Sherye and Jeremy( CAPTAIN). I couldn't stand him being the first to be out so i let him be the catcher. Below is the video!!
We had lunch after that and played charades and MRT game. Our dear captain charades darn fail! Actions all so wrong! Hehe and during MRT game we hit each other till our leg became damn red! We played husband and wife too! The cleaner aunty sat there and watch us play and kept on laughing! paisei max!
After that we clean the store! improvement! left 1 cockroach and increase of 1 frog! Then we had theory lessons for softball basics thanks to Lecturer Jeremy (CAPTAIN!) hahaha
DAY 3
Not much pictures here as I was super busy! we finally measured the field and put the bases accurately! we taught take a lead, steal bases etc! we taught sliding too! Francis favorite! sliding as and when he can!
During training from 1 to 5pm, well archery were having training too, cheeky boys from AXIS kept on looking at the girls from archery. SIGH! oh and someone from archery shouted JEREMY!(captain). Main point its a girl. See the champion have his own fans>
well that roughly sums up the whole camp! hope i wasn't too naggy! (ps i think i am)
Look out for the next post on KALLANG FAST PITCH! ;)
Your vice captain,
Catherine!

Mind of a Champion
Before we embark the softball journey, we must make sure we have our makan. So where is the best place to have our nutritious makan? It’s at our very own Makan Place. What is our Champion’s favourite store? Of cause it’s our Chai Fan Store (Mixed Vegetable Rice).
Peeps!!! Guess who is our Chai Fan Champion (CFC)? See Below.
Let us examine what is in a day of a Champion. To know a Champion, you must eat like a Champion. Starting off with the side dishes, 2 veggies 1 meat makes a well-balanced wholesome meal. Hmmmm. Let’s not forget about the drink. Complete with soya bean milk. Prefect combination, a well-deserved 10 points. What is the best part? All these for less than $4.
Wow. Mind of a Champion = Economical and Healthy.
Our forever silent killer captain (sigh) doing his eye exercise ritual after a meal.
I know you thirsty but can don’t drink my carrot juice anot. Ask me hold for you only. Bugger.
